GRANTS RECIEVED IN 2008 IMPROVE ORCUTT LIBRARY'S SENIOR COLLECTION

 

Friends of the Orcutt Library are pleased to acknowledge Santa Maria community organizations who have given grants to benefit our library. Altrusa Club of Central Coast Foundation allocated $2,400. With this grant the Orcutt Library will be able to purchase books on CD ( $1,200), large print books ($600), and non-fiction books relevant to seniors' interests. The Rotary Of Santa Maria - Noontime Foundation has generously given $1,000 which will also be used to purchase large print books. These two grants will almost triple the amount spent on large print in 2007. A State Farm Good Neighbor grant of $500 will enable us to purchase more DVDs to replace the aging video tape collection. Thanks to Altrusa, Rotary-Noontime and State Farm for their support.
